The Grand Rapids Art Museum asked Conduit to consult on a digital strategy for its exhibition catalogs and implement the strategy for the Jansma Print Collection exhibition. Our solution was a dual-format iPad app that enabled users to choose how deeply to delve into the information. It offered a detailed “art historian perspective” when held horizontally, a briefer “art lovers view” when held vertically, and the ability to toggle back and forth when interest is piqued. The free app has been enthusiastically received by the educational community. To date, it has been downloaded in over 30 countries and continues to spread awareness of the museum far beyond its current reach.
